Nikiel started his career in education development – design and implementation of the University of Oklahoma’s Online Learning initiative and as a Board Observer for the Norman Public School Foundation. He then joined a City of Norman-sponsored working group that launched a pilot program expanding high-speed broadband access to over 100 underserved households. Before joining Atento Capital, Nikiel cofounded Debt DAO, a direct lending platform that facilitated the first programmatic, trustless repayment of undercollateralized debt on a blockchain. Nikiel earned a BA in Finance and Economics at the University of Oklahoma. Outside of work, he enjoys struggling at chess, rowing, and deep-sea fishing.
